We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer with 5+ years of experience in building ELT pipelines and data models on Azure.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data engineering, with hands-on experience in Microsoft Azure data services, and modeling data for consumption via star-schemas in Power BI. As a consultant, you will work closely with our clients to design, develop, and maintain their data infrastructure, ensuring data quality and optimizing data processes to meet their unique needs.
Role Description
Design, develop, and maintain ELT pipelines to efficiently process and transform large volumes of data for clients.
Build and optimize data models in Azure SQL to support business intelligence and analytics requirements for clients.
Collaborate with client teams, data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and provide scalable solutions.
Implement best practices for data governance, data quality, and data security tailored to client environments.
Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines to ensure data accuracy and availability.
Optimize and manage environments for performance and cost efficiency.
Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for data engineering processes and solutions.
Provide training and support to client teams on best practices and new technologies.
What you'll do
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Data Engineer, with a focus on Azure.
Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and best practices.
Proficiency in building ETL/ELT pipelines using tools such as Azure Data Factory, DBT, or similar technologies.
Strong experience in SQL, including query optimization and performance tuning.
Familiarity with data modeling techniques and best practices.
Solid knowledge of scripting languages such as Python or Scala.
Experience with version control systems like Git.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Working experience through development lifecycles using Git, or equivalent.
English Spoken – Proficient English Conversation C1
English Comprehension and Writing – Proficient English Written C1 minimum.
Preferred Qualifications:
Azure certification(s)
Experience with TimeXtender
Certifications in Azure or related technologies.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools.
Qualifications
You will be working with our clients in North America (predominantly), and potentially Asia, and Europe. You will collaborate with our other team members in Latin America and the USA. You may be required to join meetings outside of your normal working hours 2-3 times a week.
