In this role you will be assisting the sales team to execute on their target market strategy, typically researching potential clients, markets, and competitors to identify opportunities for sales growth and relationship-building. The role is critical in providing the sales and account management teams with the insights and data they need to target prospects effectively by leveraging data to leverage relationships. You will help build strong client relationships, and drive business development. You will have the opportunity to move into marketing and sales-focused roles over time.

Role Description

Market and Client Research:

  • Conduct in-depth research on target markets, industries, and potential clients to identify new business opportunities.

  • Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscapes to inform sales strategies.

  • Compile and maintain databases of potential leads, including detailed profiles of companies and key decision-makers.

  • Monitoring key consulting rosters for public and private-sector opportunities to respond to RFP/Q's, and evaluating our qualification chances, and making recommendations to the management team.


Relationship Mapping:

  • Map out the organizational structures of target companies to identify key stakeholders and decision-makers.

  • Analyze the company’s existing relationships and identify opportunities for deepening engagement or cross-selling additional products/services.

  • Track and report on relationship-building activities and outcomes, providing insights into effective strategies.


Sales Intelligence:

  • Provide the sales team with actionable intelligence on prospects, including financial health, business priorities, and recent developments.

  • Monitor and analyze news, press releases, and social media to identify triggers or events that could influence sales opportunities.

  • Prepare detailed reports and briefs for the sales team to use in meetings and negotiations.


Competitive Analysis:

  • Research and analyze competitors' sales strategies, client relationships, and market positioning.

  • Provide insights on how the company can differentiate itself in the marketplace and capitalize on competitors' weaknesses.

  • Track competitor activities, such as mergers, acquisitions, product launches, and pricing strategies.


Data Analysis and Reporting:

  • Analyze data from various sources, including CRM systems, market research reports, and internal databases, to identify trends and patterns.

  • Create reports, dashboards, and presentations to communicate research findings to sales and relationship management teams.

  • Continuously update and refine research methodologies to improve the accuracy and relevance of insights.


Support Sales and Account Management:

  • Collaborate closely with sales representatives, account managers, and business development teams to align research efforts with sales goals.

  • Provide insights and recommendations that help the sales team tailor their approach to specific clients or markets.

  • Assist in the development of sales presentations, proposals, and pitches based on research findings and respond with materials to potential clients after sales calls.

  • Work with marketing manager, graphic designer, and content producers to update sales collateral according to strategic meetings and decisions.

What you'll do

  • Minimum of 3 years in a sales-focused role, ideally focused on account mapping, research, targeting.

  • Bachelors degree or higher in Business Administration, Sales/Commercial Markets, or a related technology discipline.

  • Strong written and spoken english skills to at least C1 Cambridge English grade (or equivalent).

  • Dynamic and hard-working attitude towards making a difference.

  • Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to gather and synthesize large amounts of data.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.

  • Proficiency in using research tools, databases, CRM systems (like HubSpot), and commerical media platforms such as LinkedIN.

  • Knowledge of the industry or market in which the company operates, including key players, trends, and challenges.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Attention to detail and a methodical approach to research and analysis.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with LinkedIN Sales Navigator.

  • Working as an inside sales representative in the consulting or staffing field.

  • A working understanding of the technology landscape.
