In this role, you will be responsible for managing complex migration initiatives, ensuring the seamless transition of applications from legacy environments to modern platforms. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, architects, and stakeholders, to define migration strategies, develop project plans, and ensure successful execution. Your technical expertise and leadership will be pivotal in guiding architectural decisions, mitigating risks, and ensuring alignment with business objectives.

Role Description

Project Management

Lead end-to-end application migration projects, from planning and execution to deployment and post-migration support.
Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, timelines, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
Monitor project progress, identify and address potential issues, and ensure milestones are met within defined timeframes and budgets.

Application Migration Strategy

Define and implement application migration strategies, including assessment of current environments, planning for data and application migration, and executing migration plans.
Evaluate and select appropriate migration tools and methodologies to ensure a seamless transition with minimal disruption to business operations.
Provide expertise in migrating applications to cloud platforms, on-premises infrastructure, or hybrid environments.

Architectural Guidance

Work closely with technical architects and engineering teams to provide architectural guidance for application migration.
Analyze current application architectures and recommend modernization strategies, including refactoring, re-platforming, or re-architecting.
Ensure that the migrated applications adhere to best practices for scalability, performance, security, and compliance.

Stakeholder Management

Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, and technical teams to understand requirements, define project goals, and establish clear communication channels.
Facilitate regular project status meetings, providing updates on progress, risks, and key decisions to stakeholders and executive leadership.
Manage expectations, gather feedback, and ensure stakeholder alignment throughout the project lifecycle.

Risk Management and Quality Assurance

Identify potential risks and challenges associated with application migration projects and develop mitigation strategies.
Implement quality assurance practices to ensure that migrated applications meet performance, security, and functional requirements.
Conduct post-migration evaluations to ensure that the transition meets business and technical objectives.

Process Improvement

Continuously seek opportunities to improve migration processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Document best practices and lessons learned to inform future migration projects and contribute to the development of internal knowledge repositories.

Team Leadership and Collaboration

Lead cross-functional project teams, including developers, architects, system administrators, and third-party vendors.
Foster a collaborative team environment, promoting open communication and knowledge sharing.
Mentor and guide team members, providing technical and project management expertise to drive project success.

What you'll do

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Written, comprehension, and spoken English to C1 Cambridge English level or better.
7+ years of experience in technical program management, with a focus on application migration, data migration, and architecture re-vamp projects.
Strong technical background with experience in application architecture, cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), and infrastructure management.
Proven experience managing complex migration projects, including planning, execution, and post-migration support.
Solid understanding of application lifecycle management, software development methodologies, and best practices.
Excellent project management skills, with proficiency in tools such as Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Project, or similar.
Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate technical challenges and make sound architectural decisions.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with cloud-native application architectures, microservices, containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), and serverless computing.
Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools, including CI/CD pipelines, automation, and infrastructure as code (IaC).
Certification in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) or cloud platforms (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect).
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
