In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining Android applications that involve secure and efficient payment processing. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including backend developers, product managers, and UX/UI designers, to deliver seamless and secure payment experiences to our clients' users.
Role Description
Android Application Development:
Design, develop, and maintain Android applications with a focus on payment gateway integration.
Ensure applications are responsive, secure, and user-friendly, delivering a seamless payment experience.
Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices and coding standards.
SDK Development and Integration:
Develop and maintain custom SDKs for payment gateways, enabling secure and reliable payment processing within Android applications.
Integrate third-party payment gateway SDKs, ensuring compatibility and compliance with industry standards.
Collaborate with backend developers to ensure smooth integration between the Android application and payment processing systems.
Security and Compliance:
Implement robust security measures to protect sensitive payment information, adhering to PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) and other relevant regulations.
Conduct thorough testing and code reviews to identify and mitigate security vulnerabilities.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices for payment processing and data protection.
API Integration:
Work with RESTful APIs to facilitate communication between the Android application and backend services, including payment processing systems.
Ensure APIs are properly implemented, optimized for performance, and capable of handling high volumes of transactions.
Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to API integration and payment processing.
Performance Optimization:
Optimize the performance of the Android application, focusing on fast and efficient payment processing.
Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in the application and payment gateway integration.
Implement caching, load balancing, and other performance-enhancing techniques as necessary.
Testing and Quality Assurance:
Develop and execute unit tests, integration tests, and end-to-end tests to ensure the reliability and functionality of payment gateways within the Android application.
Perform thorough debugging and troubleshooting to resolve issues and ensure a smooth user experience.
Collaborate with QA teams to conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) and ensure the application meets quality standards.
Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and backend developers, to understand requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.
Participate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress and addressing any concerns or challenges.
Continuous Improvement:
Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in Android development and payment gateway technologies.

What you'll do
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
3+ years of experience in Android application development, with a focus on payment gateway integration and SDK development.
Proficiency in Java and Kotlin for Android development.
Strong understanding of Android SDK, Android Studio, and Android development tools.
Experience with developing and integrating custom SDKs, particularly for payment gateways.
Knowledge of secure coding practices, encryption, and PCI DSS compliance.
Familiarity with RESTful APIs, JSON, and networking in Android applications.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred:
Experience with popular payment gateways (e.g., Stripe, PayPal, Square, Braintree) and their SDKs.
Familiarity with mobile payment technologies such as Google Pay, Apple Pay, and NFC payments.
Knowledge of mobile security frameworks and tools.
Experience with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines for Android applications.
Prior experience in a fast-paced startup or agile development environment.
